This school is one of the new styles of contemporary fiction writing in which the author masterfully utilizes prominent features such as "the fusion of reality and fantasy," "symbol and myth," and "magic" in the context of the story, so that the events and heroes of the novel are completely believable to the audience. The present study conducts a comparative study of the components of magical realism in two prominent novels, "The Last Pomegranate of the World" by Bachtyar Ali and "The Year of Turmoil" by Abbas Maroufi. "The Last Pomegranate of the World" depicts a world in which the bitter realities of war and exile are intertwined with fantasy and mystery by narrating two seemingly separate stories by Mozaffar Sobhdam and Mohammad Delshisheh, and by combining them with magical elements such as the storm and the glass pomegranate. In contrast, "Year of Riot," by narrating the life of Noshafarin and utilizing the fluid flow of the mind, mixes social and historical realities with symbols and imaginations such as forbidden love and parallel stories. Both novels utilize key components of magical realism, such as the presence of unreal elements in a context of reality, multi-layered narrative, and the use of symbols, but at the same time they also show differences
