Simile and its types in the tradition of contemporary Persian and Italian literature

Abstract

In order to reach the field of comparative literature in the modern era as an emerging phenomenon in the field of humanities research, it is necessary to apply the knowledge that plays a role in the field of linguistics and rhetoric. Rhetorical techniques, after the knowledge of linguistics, in understanding the mechanisms of literary text creation and stylistic analysis of each work, are one of the keys to cross-cultural research. In this article we intend to explore one of the most fundamental arrays of rhetorical technique, like, simile, in Persian literature and the literature of Romance culture, to better show the role of one of the tools of imagination in two different fields of language creation. Therefore, it is tried to adapt the norms and practical foundations of the simile array, which is more developed in Persian literature than the culture of romance, to the European view of this concept.
