The authors choose various names for their works and their heroes, and sometimes they choose the name of the main hero as the title of their work. Most of the time, the name of the hero is chosen accidentally, but sometimes the author follows an intention. One of the authors who has paid special attention to the choice of the title of his work and the names of the heroes, is Romain Rolland, the French writer of the novel Jean-Christophe. He has chosen the name "Jean-Christophe Kraft" as his hero. In this article, we try to find the reasons why Rolland has chosen this name in order to find proper answers for the following questions: Has he tried to produce sense through his choice? What are the factors that may affect the making of meaning in his choice? Ultimately, the object of this analysis and synthesis is to make the reader familiar with one of the essential and effective elements of a novel; the name of the hero. یکی از مباحثی که به ندرت در بررسی آثار مورد توجه قرار می‌گیرد، انتخاب عنوان یک اثر ادبی و یا انتخاب اسامی قهرمانان است. نویسندگان نام‌های مختلفی بر آثار و قهرمانان خود می‌نهند و آنان در این انتخاب گاهی نام قهرمان اصلی را برای آثارشان برمی‌گزینند. در بسیاری از موارد، نام قهرمان یک اثر به طور تصادفی انتخاب می‌شود، اما گاهی نویسنده در این انتخاب، هدفی را نیز دنبال می‌کند. یکی از نویسندگانی که در انتخاب عنوان اثر و القاب قهرمانان خود دقت بسیار صرف کرده، رومن رولان نویسندة فرانسوی و خالق رمان ژان‌کریستف است. وی برای قهرمان خود در این اثر، عنوان «ژان‌کریستف کرافت» را انتخاب کرده است. در این مقاله سعی می‌شود به انگیزه های رومن رولان برای انتخاب این نام در خلق رمان ژان‌کریستف پرداخته شود تا نگارندگان این مقاله بتوانند برای پرسش‌های زیر پاسخ مناسبی بیابند: چرا رولان در رمان ژان‌کریستف، نام «ژان‌کریستف کرافت» را برای قهرمان خود برگزیده است؟ آیا رولان با گزینش این نام کوشیده است به تولید معنا بپردازد؟ عناصر اصلی دخیل برای تولید معنا در این انتخاب کدامند؟ هدف از این تجزیه و تحلیل آن است که خواننده با یکی از عناصر اصلی و سازندة رمان یعنی «نام قهرمان» آشنا شود. https://jor.ut.ac.ir/article_29457_c1208cc8156233bbeb8ccce7333e78b6.pdf
