The data of the study entails Persian literary texts from different literary genres, namely fiction, poetry, and drama. The study is in line with that carried out by Olahan (2001) which explored syntactic omission conventions in the translated English corpora of BNC and TEC. The present research is an attempt to investigate the findings presented by Olahan yet across three literary genres and to inspect the behavior of optional syntactic explicitation pertaining to fiction, poetry, and drama translations. The results of the study revealed that explicitation of syntactic optional structures is a prevalent norm in modern Persian-English translations of literary texts and that among the proposed conventions, explicitation of the complementiser THAT followed by that of relative pronouns proves the most frequent in all literary genres; yet, in other sub-categories, our findings do not confirm Olahan’s. The findings reveal that explicitation is applied as a literary device in literary translation. پژوهش حاضر بر اساس مدل دیکسون (2005) به بررسی تصریح ساختاری اختیاری زبان انگلیسی در ترجمه‌های فارسی- انگلیسی سه گونه‌ی ادبی می‌پردازد. هدف از این پژوهش آزمودن نتایج بدست آمده در پژوهش اولاهان (2001) است که موضوع مورد نظر را در دو پیکره زبانیTEC و BNC مورد بررسیده است. همچنین این پژوهش بر آن است رفتار تصریح ساختاری را در ترجمه‌های انگلیسی سه گونه ادبی بررسی نماید. بررسی موردی بر روی 13 شعر، 4 نمایشنامه، و 8 رمان و داستان کوتاه فارسی به همراه ترجمه‌های انگلیسی آنها انجام گرفت که به صورت تصادفی انتخاب شدند. نتایج این پژوهش نشان می‌دهد که تصریح در ترجمه‌های فارسی- انگلیسی متون ادبی معاصر نوعی هنجار ترجمه‌ایست و در همه‌ی گونه‌های ادبی، تصریح متمم‌ساز THAT و سپس ضمایر ملکی فراوان‌ترین نوع تصریح ساختاری اختیاری است که با نتایج اولاهان (2001) همخوانی دارد؛ همچنین تصریحin order نیز در ترجمه‌ی داستان و نمایشنامه به کار رفته بود؛ اما، سایر نتایج بدست آمده در این بررسی یافته‌های اولاهان را تایید نمی‌کند. یافته‌ها نشان می‌دهد تصریح در مقام ابزاری ادبی در ترجمه ادبی به کار بسته می‌شود همچنین تغییرگریزی متون ادبی و ایجاز کلام بویژه در شعر از جمله عوامل موثر در محذوف نگاه داشتن چنین ساختارهایی در برخی گونه‌ها شده است. https://jor.ut.ac.ir/article_23668_ee4b59f428ee1dddf4292f0fd4da57c7.pdf
