This essay looks at the writingsof three women who have attempted in an original way to depict the differentfacets of modern life in their works and have been received relatively well bycultural media and literary circles. The selected works will be analysed fromthe perspectives of various relevant literary and philosophic discourses, witha special emphasis on “pop” and “postmodern” approaches. Moreover, particularattention has been paid to these works’ distinguishing characteristics and theway they differ from “feminist literature”, which actually came into being withthe basic intention of calling in question and challenging patriarchalstructures and models in the seventies.
